Nokia 6500 Classic iSync Plugin (Updated)

Hi thanks fo rthe brilliant work for this model of nokia. The contacs are transfered but at the end of the sync i get the following error message;

Probably all contacts are not being transfered thats why?

It doesn’t work. I’ve installed this plugin, my iSync sees the phone, but they can’t synchronize.
I receive an error on the phone (impossible data transfer, or contact service operator).

I have tiger system (10.4.11) and the phone is new.

Can you help me?

i’m continuously receiving “Device Nokia 6500c synchronization failed.” message.
I’ve tried to restart all, but it can’t sync. I’m in tiger with iSync 2.4 (501.2).

If you already have all your contacts in Address Book and it’s not a big deal if your phone contacts gets deleted, try deleting all your phone contacts and calendar data as well. Then do a fresh sync. I don’t know why this happens but “resetting” seems to make it work again.

Seems to work really well, one slight niggle. I often add notes as an ‘add detail’ to my contacts in the Nokia 6500 classic (ie Middle Bell, or public transport information to their house) and they don’t seem to go across to Mac’s Address Book after an iSync. They used to when I owned a Nokia 6300 no worries, wondering if this is an easy fix? Other than that its perfect, good work sir!

My phone looked like it was syncing. All the contacts would go through, but it would freeze half way through the calendar sync. I deleted all the calendar notes on my phone and to my joy the sync worked.

Installed your plugin for my nokia 6500c. Went smoothly.
Synchronisation however stops at 56% of my agenda.
Have firmware V09.48 26-01-09 RM-265
Any idea how this happens.
(Did already reinstall, reboot… nothing helped)

Just got an IPhone and am trying to transfer the contacts from my 6500 classic to my macbook installed your plug-in and it now ’sees’ my phone and ’syncs’ but it hasn’t created any contacts in address book… How do I generate contacts? Should it do this automatically?

Just upgraded to v.0.5 and made a fresh sync after deleting contacts/calendars from my phone, everything works fine.

Do you have a changelog for 0.5?

I have added a changelog as well as the .ppdoc file to the post.

Yes it should do this automatically.

hi. thanx for the program. though i have a problem. In a total 382 contacts, once getting to 325, everything stops, I mean the synchronisation process. I cannot understand why, and I cannot think of a way to solve this problem. If you can come up with a good idea, pls advise!

I deleted all of my notes and Im still not able to successfuly sync my contacts. I have 851 contacts but it stops at 70% and refuses to syn beyond 635th contact, then gives thje same error…

Hi, I seem to have the same problem as Tom G. It looks like a successful transfer, all the right prompts and confirmations, then nothing in my address book ? What has it done in that case ?

Could you please make the Tiger plugin available again. My phone now refuses to sync, and it worked before. Ik have the latest firmware 9.48. Maybe that the problem?

Do you know How to use iSync with Nokia 6700 Classic ?

A weird thing I found out after updating to 0.5v is that the phone could not recognize the sync and will request us to check the service provider to check for sync settings. So I thought maybe reversing it back to 0.4v may work, and I was right. could you check it a bit and see whats wrong? I’m using MacOS 10.5.8 now

Hi! Thanks for the plugin, it was working perfectly, but something went wrong. I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now I’m using iSync 3.1. Now I have two options. If I use the plugin 0.4, it does nothing: starts the process, I can see it on the phone that they’re connected and all, but the process stops before the first sync operation. If I use the version 0.5, I get the same situation as tingler. The phone would start to sync, but it shows an error message saying: for sync settings contact your service provider. I assume it wants to sync with some sort of server – obviously that’s not what I want. Now I’ve done some research, and found another page that refers to your plugin, and at the beginning of the page there’s something written about the plugin working only on iSync 3.0. Does anybody know how I can “downgrade” from ver 3.1 to 3.0? Or is there a way to fix the issue? Thanks in advance!

I just downloaded the software, however I ran into the problem that you wrote about above: “If iSync tells you that it wants to change more than 5% of the contacts on your computer and wants to delete a couple of contacts even though you haven’t deleted any in your phone; DO NOT SYNC”…

So I DID NOT sync it. Also, iSync said it only recognized 1 contact out of my 130+ contacts.

How can I fix this problem? Thank you!
